Asus P750

Asus P750Well, Asustek is not satisfied play in computer hardware, now they expand their business by launching their P750 handheld.

Designed to cater to users who require a full-featured PDA phone that can deliver top-notch business as well as GPS functions, ASUS, producer of top-notch handhelds, has launched the new ASUS P750 PDA Phone. Winner of the 2007 Japan G-Mark Award, this revolutionary handheld wonder is able to provide high speed data transfers, complete business applications; as well as total connectivity to networks including: HSDPA, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB & GPS.

These business features include Ur Time – which allows the user to view the time of various cities on the Today screen. This useful feature ties in with the Meeting Time Planner, which helps eliminate the hassle of time converting and makes meeting scheduling more efficient than ever before. The Newstation provides up-to-date news and blog updates through RSS settings – keeping users in the know about current events or website updates, while the Auto Cleaner function keeps the device in tip-top condition and operating with the best performance by cleaning up unwanted data. Last but not least, the Business Card Recognition feature utilizes the 3 Mega-pixel Auto Focus camera to easily capture details of a business card without tediously keying in the data into their contacts.

The ASUS P750 is worth for $775. GPS, Numeric keypad, fast processor, design, great to use. Numeric keypad for text input; bundled car kit; many applications included; HSDPA connectivity; convenient power switch; excellent battery life.

Unfortunately there is no bundled maps for navigation; ordinary design; shutter lag in camera application. Though not as prolific as brands like HTC, Asus does have a few PDA-phones in its portfolio. The company’s main differentiator since its earlier MyPal-branded devices is the inclusion of GPS in most of its devices. This carries on in the current range and extends to the upcoming lineup as well. Asus’ current flagship model is the P750, a Windows Mobile 6 handheld with HSDPA as one of its connectivity features. It retails for S$1,188 and is available in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

The power switch is one aspect of the design that we really liked. It works very much like those Hold switches found on music players–moving it up from the default center position turns the device on or off, while moving it down locks it. This allows you to keylock the P750 no matter which application you happen to be in, unlike many other WM handhelds which can be keylocked only from the Home screen.

On the base of this PDA-phone are two ports, one mini-USB and one 2.5mm audio connector. A stylus slot is also found there close to the right edge.
